Crime Alert

On Feb. 8, UIC Police received a report that on Nov. 2, 2016, at approximately 12 p.m. a student was a victim of criminal sexual assault by an acquaintance, also a UIC student, in a university residence hall at 716 W. Rochford St.

The offender is described as an 18-year-old black male, 6-0 in height, thin build, with black hair and brown eyes.

The university is providing resources to assist the victim and will continue to take actions to maintain the safety and security of the campus community.

UIC Police are leading the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call 312-996-2830.

On Feb. 8, a Campus Security Authority received an anonymous report that on January 13 a student was a victim of criminal sexual assault by an acquaintance in a university residence hall at 700 S. Halsted St.

The offender is described as male, 5-7 to 5-9 in height, slightly muscular build, with large ears, short dark brown hair, a mustache and beard.

The university is providing resources to assist the victim and will continue to take actions to maintain the safety and security of the campus community.
