Public Safety Advisory

On Tuesday, May 16, at approximately 3 p.m., UIC Police responded to a report of a strong-arm robbery that occurred at 1100 South Wood Street, 3rd level of the UIC South Wood Street Parking Structure. The victim, a UIC faculty member, reported that he was approached from behind by two offenders and punched. The offenders then took the keys to his vehicle and fled westbound in the victim’s black 2015 Toyota Camry license plate 4899511. The offenders were described by the victim as two African American males, one with dreadlocked hair and dark clothing. No weapons were seen by the victim or implied by the offenders.

UIC Police also issue notifications for off-campus crimes in the interest of public-safety awareness. Security tips are standard precautions, not special or incident-specific measures.
